Welcome to FM Dictionary("the App", "we", "our"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring that your personal information is handled in a safe, transparent, and responsible manner.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, process, secure, and delete your data when you use the FM Dictionary mobile application on iOS and Android operating systems. By installing and using the app, you agree to the terms set forth in this policy.

1. Data Collection and Purpose of Use

We only collect and process the minimum necessary information to operate the app's core features, sync learning progress, diagnose system errors, and secure your account:

• Account Information (Login): When you register or log in through a third party (Google Sign-In or Apple Sign-In), we will receive basic information from your public profile, including: Email Address, Full Name, and Profile Picture (URL). Purpose: Used to verify identity, create user accounts, personalize the interface, and sync data between multiple devices.
• Learning Progress and Achievements: We collect data on vocabulary learning history, bookmarked personal vocabulary lists (flashcards), quiz results, daily streaks, and unlocked achievement badges. Purpose: Store your learning progress to avoid data loss when you change devices or reinstall the app.
• Social Learning Groups: If you actively join a private study group, your display name and learning progress metrics (such as scores, streak) will be shared and displayed publicly only to members of that group. Purpose: Promote group learning motivation and internal competition rankings.
• Technical Data and Automatic Error Diagnostics: When you use the App, third-party infrastructure services integrated into the app (such as Google Firebase) may automatically record some technical information including: IP address, device type, operating system version, random device identifier (for operational purposes only), and app crash logs. Purpose: Monitor system performance, fix technical issues promptly, and protect the app from phishing attacks.

2. Device Access and Audio Processing (AI Pronunciation Feature)

The FM Dictionary app integrates artificial intelligence (AI) English pronunciation analysis and evaluation features. This feature requires access to the device's Microphone:

• Explicit Consent: We only access the Microphone when you agree to grant permission through the iOS/Android system permission dialog. You can revoke this permission at any time in your device settings.
• Real-time Processing: The app only records your voice when you actively press and hold the record button during pronunciation lessons.
• Instant Deletion and Absolute Privacy Policy: Your recorded audio files will be encrypted and securely transferred via HTTPS (SSL/TLS) to our processing servers through a secure proxy (Cloudflare Workers). Immediately after the recognition and scoring process is complete (or if a connection error occurs), this temporary audio file will be immediately and permanently deleted from the device memory and processing servers. We do not store, record logs, or retain any of your voice recording files on any server. This audio data is also never shared with third parties or used for commercial/advertising purposes.

3. Third-party Services & Data Commitment

To provide some technical features, we use reputable global third-party services. These service providers have their own privacy policies regarding the data they process:

• Google Sign-In: Used for account authentication. Privacy Policy.
• Apple Sign-In: Used for account authentication on iOS devices. Privacy Policy.
• Firebase (Google Cloud): Firebase Authentication: Manage account login and authentication. Cloud Firestore & Realtime Database: Store and sync learning progress, study group configurations. Firebase Privacy Policy.
• Cloudflare Workers: Proxy to forward secure audio recognition requests. Cloudflare Privacy Policy.

4. Security and International Data Transfer

We apply strict technical and organizational security measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction:

• All data transmission between the app and service servers is encrypted using state-of-the-art SSL/TLS encryption via the HTTPS protocol.
• Access to data on the cloud database (Firebase Firestore) is strictly configured through Security Rules, ensuring that only users with legitimate accounts have the right to read and write their own data.

International Data Transfer: By using the App, you understand and agree that your personal information and progress data may be transmitted, stored, and processed on cloud servers located abroad operated by our infrastructure partners (Google Firebase, Cloudflare) in accordance with global data safety standards.

5. User Rights and Account Deletion Process

We respect your absolute control over your personal data. You have full rights to access, edit, restrict processing, and delete your data:

• Self-Management Rights: You can view and edit your profile information directly in the Settings section of the app. You also have the right to withdraw hardware access permissions (such as the Microphone) at any time through the operating system settings on your device.
• Right to request account deletion directly in the App (Recommended): Step 1: Open the FM Dictionary app, go to the Settings tab. Step 2: Select Profile or Danger Zone. Step 3: Click Delete Account and confirm your agreement in the system dialog.
• Right to request account deletion via Web or Email: You can use our Online Account Deletion Page or send an email directly to our support address at: ankhang.nguyen0704@gmail.com. Please send the email from the exact email address you used to log in to the app so we can verify your identity.

6. Children's Privacy

Our App is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age according to the laws of your country). We do not actively collect or request personally identifiable information from children under 13.

If you are a parent or legal guardian and discover that your child has provided us with personal information without consent, please contact us immediately via support email so we can verify and delete that information from our server system immediately.

7. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the app's operational features or in accordance with new legal updates from Google and Apple. The updated version will be posted directly on this page with the latest update date at the beginning of the document. We encourage you to check this page periodically to stay informed of your rights.
